In a boost to the Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau’s investigation into the alleged cash-for-vote scam, the agency has received a letter of support from the Election Commission.
According to the informed sources the Election Commission has told the ACB to continue its investigation till all the facts come out.
The case has generated a lot of political heat in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as the ACB has caught a Telugu Desam MlA A Revanth Reddy red handed while paying bribe money of Rs 50 lakhs to a nominated member of Telangana Assembly to seek his vote for the TDP candidate in legislative Council elections last month.
Election Commission’s stand was also a setback for N Chandrababu Naidu government of Andhra Pradesh which was arguing that ACB had no jurisdiction over the case and Election Commission should have handled it.
