Dwarka Moms for clean India

Published on:

Women in Dwarka have stepped out of their kitchens to improve the environment by cleaning their surroundings. Some 8,000 women have joined a group called Dwarka Moms that was started in 2016. The group, which was started by Kajal Chanana with five members and grew over years, plans to implement Modi’s Swachch Bharat Abhiyan in their area.

“We used to file complaints to the corporation and the concerned authorities but they never turned up. The area stinks which is a major hazard to children and elders. So we decided to form the group to keep our area clean and it has worked,” said Channa, whose group has grown in the last two years with help of the social media.
