The National Commission for Women took cognizance of complaint made against Samajwadi Party leader Narendra Bhati, for his alleged objectionable remarks on suspended IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal.
NCW chairperson Mamata Sharma on Tuesday confirmed that the Commission will probe into alleged misbehaviour of Bhati, who enjoyed Minister of State status and take subsequently appropriate action in the matter.
Meanwhile, Nutan Thakur, the social activist who had confirmed of above action by NCW on her complaint against Bhati said she was communicated verbally that the Commission has taken cognisance of the complaint lodged on Saturday and has sent a letter to Jawed Usmani, the Chief Secretary asking him to present a detailed report in the matter.
