Delhi Technological University (DTU) welcomed its new undergraduate students on Monday with an orientation-cum-induction ceremony held on campus. The event marked the beginning of an academic journey for the incoming batch and featured key figures from the education and public sectors.
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, who joined virtually as Chief Guest, congratulated the students and urged them to pursue both academic and social excellence. He encouraged participation in the Swachhta Abhiyan and called for student-led innovations to tackle urban challenges in Delhi.
"Your journey at DTU should prepare you not just as engineers, but as responsible citizens aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals," Sood stated.
The ceremony began with a traditional lamp lighting by former Enforcement Directorate chief Karnal Singh, a 1979 alumnus of DTU (then DCE).
Highlights of the event included the launch of the 68th edition of DTU Times and the premiere of a documentary by DTU Studio. The university also released its revised Regulation and Scheme of Teaching and Evaluation Ordinance.
