After the expiry of five-day long custody remand of Sanjeev Pratap Singh, alias Guddu Singh, and Rajeev Pratap, alias Raju Singh, sleuths of the CBI lodged both back in district jail at Pratapgarh on Monday evening.
The team which grilled the these two close aides of Independent MlA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya, also an accused for orchestrating killing of deputy SP, Zia-ul-Haq, claimed to have get come leads pointing that all the three killings in Balipur on March 2 was a meticulously planned murder. The probing team now armed with a 9mm pistol, reportedly service weapon of slain Dy SP, Zia-ul-Haq and it’s magazine, are now waiting for ballistic experts report to confirm whether the weapon belongs to police officer and that it was used on the fateful day or not.
Mystery already shrouded over recovery of the weapon as it was said to be found lying abandoned in the bushes just adjacent to the spot at tea stall where Nanhe Yadav was sprayed with bullets. PNS
Interestingly, the recovery was made just two days after the probing team equipped with all kinds of metal detecting gazettes left no stone unturned to search for at least some evidences from the two spots where the incident took place on the fateful day but they failed to get any success. Not only this, they later also recovered loaded magazine of the same bore just near the scene of crime which all pointed that someone who was having both in his possession had dumped it to facilitate the investigating team to go ahead and opened the case.
Sources said that all out efforts of the cops to pick up chairman of Zila Panchayat, Gulshan Yadav as well as Hari Om Srivastava, both accused in killing of Zia-ul-Haq along with Guddu Singh and Raja Bhaiya, also failed to yield any result. Both Gulshan and Hari Om are said be very close to Raja Bhaiya and the CBI reportedly found their presence in Balipur area of Pratapgarh on the fateful day.
The CBI after failing to locate Gulshan Yadav, had detained his brother who too was vice-president of the SP of Pratapgarh district. Interestingly all the persons who were named in the FIRs in connection with gram pradhan Nanhe Yadav and his brother Suresh Yadav’s killing as well as in the murder of Zia-ul-Haq so far pleaded their innocence claiming that they were not involved in the crime. However, the CBI continued to interrogate them along with Kamta Prasad Pal and his son Ajay Kumar Pal, both named in the FIR filed in the murder of gram pradhan Nanhe Yadav, and surrendered before the CBI at their camp office at Panchayat Bhawan in Kunda on last Saturday. It may be mentioned here that three of the four accused named in the pradhan’s murder case are now already in the CBI net, and only one of the named accused, Ajit Kumar Singh, is still absconding.
