In a unique addition to the ongoing preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025, Uttar Pradesh’s first double-decker bus restaurant, named Pumpkin, was inaugurated at the Media Center in Prayagraj on Monday. The innovative eatery not only offers a glimpse of the grand Maha Kumbh through its design and ambiance but also serves pure vegetarian and sattvic meals, making it a popular attraction for pilgrims and visitors.
The two-level restaurant is ingeniously designed, with the lower level housing a fully functional kitchen and the upper level serving as a cozy dining area with a seating capacity of 25 people. Pumpkin promises a culinary experience that caters to all, including special meals for those observing fasts.
Speaking at the inauguration, Pumpkin’s founder, Manveer Godara, said, "We are thrilled to launch the Pumpkin brand from the holy land of Kumbh. This is just the beginning. Soon, we plan to expand to other spiritual cities like Kashi, Mathura, and Ayodhya. Our aim is to offer hygienic, delicious, and affordable food to devotees visiting these sacred sites."
The restaurant’s menu is priced keeping the budget of common pilgrims in mind. "We have carefully designed the menu to ensure that everyone, from pilgrims to journalists, can enjoy good food without feeling a pinch in their pockets," Godara added.
