Dooru MlA's house burgled in Jammu

A day after the Diwali celebrations were over a daring act of robbery inside the house of first time MlA from Dooru Assembly segment Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, brother-in-law of J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed, has come to light here in the winter capital of Jammu & Kashmir.

High profile robbery in the highly secured zone where most of the ministerial bunglows are also located near Model Police station, Gandhi Nagar has sent the entire State machinery into a tizzy.

Though the exact date of the robbery is not yet known to anyone in the State machinery the incident came to light on Thursday morning when some of the caretakers of the Government accommodation arrived at the house for routine cleaning work ahead of his visit.

The keys of the Government flat 28-C were available with MlA Dooru as he had retained the flat after the shifting of durbar move in April 2015.

As the main door was thrown open the care takers were shocked to see the empty house. “The interior of the house was disoriented and almost all the fixtures and furnishings were found absent inside the Government quarter of PDP legislator”, official sources revealed.

“The entire furniture of the Govt quarter 28-C including wall to wall carpet, beds, sofa sets, lED, Refrigerator, utensils and other house hold items were found missing” official sources in the Estates department told The Pioneer.

Interestingly, a permanent guard of Estates Department deputed in the area did not report any robbery in the area before  an FIR was lodged on behalf of the MlA with the local police. “The house was last visited by the MlA few weeks ago and everything was intact at that point of time”, official sources said.

Senior officers of the Estates Department claimed it was very difficult for any outsider to move freely in the area. They claimed the robbers fled away with house hold items which can be shifted only in a load carrier or a small truck.

“The furniture and sofa sets cannot be taken away from the govt accommodation like this unless insiders are also involved. A thorough inquiry is required to ascertain the facts in the case”, senior estates department official claimed.
