Residents of lalapet in Secunderabad were in for a shock when the door of a small aircraft flying over the area came off and fell on the terrace of a two-storey building.
After the incident at around noon on Monday the residents of the building ran out as they heard sound of a big explosion. It was the neighbors who had seen something fall of the aircraft and hitting the terrace who told the family about it and police was alerted. luckily there was no loss of life or damage to the property. Only the pieces of glass of the door were spread on the terrace and water tank suffered a crack.
The door belonged to Diamond DA-42 four seater trainer aircraft of Telangana State Aviation Academy and was on a routine flight with two pilots when the incident occurred. While the Director General of Civil Aviation has ordered a probe in to the incident, the door was in the possession of the local police.
Ganesh Yadav, whose house in Yadav Basti has become the focus of the attention after the incident expressed his happiness that his family remained safe.
