Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi who earlier had taken the issue of ragging incident of son of a ministerial colleague on a serious note, said on Sunday that such incident should not be seen through party lines. The traumatised student is battling for life in a Delhi hospital.
“This incident should not be seen through the party lines. It has nothing to do with the JD(U) or the BJP. If you’ll see this incident through political lens it will amount to narrow mindedness,” said Manjhi when mediapersons approached him for reaction following reports that relative of a BJP MP was being questioned by the Bhopal Police in this connection.
He further said that one should not see this incident through political eye as some students might have done something wrong out of excitement and curiosity.
Meanwhile, some media reports said that son of Bihar’s Cooperative Minister Jai Kumar Singh was subjected to humiliating ragging by students in the hostel. Adarsh Kumar Singh, a Std IX student of the Scindia School in Gwalior, said reports, was even asked to mop floors and do kneel down by the senior students.
Taking the issue on serious note, the Bihar Chief Minister even had spoken to his Madhya Pradesh counterpart and requested him for a fair probe into the incident.
