DMK meets Guv, demands EPS, cabinet ministers' resignation over 'bribery'

The Opposition DMK on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Tamil Nadu’s in-charge Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao, demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Edapaddi K Palaniswami and ten of his Cabinet colleagues or their dismissal from their posts for allegedly bribing the voters -- a revelation that prompted the Election Commission to cancel the RK Nagar by-poll.

In a memorandum submitted in Mumbai by its delegation comprising  Rajya Sabha members R S Bharathi and Tiruchi N Shiva, the DMK also urged the Governor to recommend to the Union Government to institute a CBI inquiry into the ‘massive corruption’ allegedly indulged in by the ruling AIADMK (Amma)’s Council of Ministers.

It may be recalled that the EC had cancelled the RK Nagar by-poll which was scheduled on Sunday last.
