Two days after it urged Governor K Rosaiah to “implement” the rule of law in Tamil Nadu, the DMK has convened a meeting of its District Secretaries on October 8 to discuss the “deteriorating” law and order situation.
The meeting, to be chaired by DMK chief M Karunanidhi, would be held at the party headquarters here to discuss the “deteriorating” law and order situation in the State, party general secretary K Anbazhagan said in a statement.
The DMK had on October 3 urged Rosaiah to direct the Government to “act in accordance with law” and take action against the ruling partymen, who had “violated the law”. After the jailing of AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa, Ministers and party office-bearers engaged in various “unlawful” agitations, DMK alleged.
