Din in Bihar Assembly over Patna rally blasts

The Opposition parties protested against Nitish Kumar Government over Patna rally blasts and deteriorating law and order situation in the State for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. Amid din and pandemonium the proceedings of State Assembly was called off for the day.

Earlier on Monday, the BJP and the RJD had disrupted the proceedings of the State Assembly demanding discussion on serial blasts in which six people were killed during BJP’s Patna rally on October 27. Displaying placards, the BJP leaders charged the Nitish Government for “patronising and promoting terrorism in the State”.

For the second day on Tuesday when the legislative Assembly proceedings set off the Opposition BJP and RJD members trooped into the well demanding suspension of all business and discussion on terrorists attack at Patna rally and in Bodh Gaya as well. The RJD leaders too protested against the Nitish Government over deteriorating law and order situation in the State while chanting anti-Government slogans.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, significantly, was present in the House when the Opposition members protested and demanded his resignation. Amid continuous din and pandemonium the State Assembly Speaker Uday Narain Choudhary later adjourned the House for the day. The BJP leaders also declared that they would not allow the six day Winter Session of State legislature to function unless their demand was met by the Speaker.

Meanwhile, the Opposition leaders protest provided opportunity for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take dig on them. “Though the RJD has the mandate for what they are doing and protesting against the Government but what the BJP is doing is just belying the mandate people of the state had given to them”.

“Now, it has become fashionable for the Opposition to create such pandemonium and protests over no issues”, Nitish Kumar later said.
