Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday literally assumed upon herself the charge of taking the Sangh on through a pan-Indian “oust BJP” campaign saying she with the cooperation of the like-minded parties would make the saffron outfit quit India in 2019.
With this end in sight Banerjee would fly off to Delhi where she would meet Sonia Gandhi on Thursday before proceeding "to unite the opposition forces" in Bihar and Jharkhand and take part in a rally being organized by lalu Yadav.
In a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi Government from a “BJP quit India” rally at Midnapore the Bengal Chief Minister said the Central rulers had unleashed a dictatorship in India before congratulating Ahmed Patel for his victory in Rajya Sabha elections in Gujarat.
Terming Patel’s “prestige victory” a win of democracy over dictatorship Banerjee said, “from demonetization to forced implementation of GST” to browbeating the opposition parties with CBI and ED “this Government has unleashed a reign of state terror where only whip-lashes of dictatorship is heard.”
Her Government had “opposed implementation of GST so hurriedly in order not to put common man and the small traders in trouble. But they did not listen to us and threatened us with blocking the Treasury if we did not adopt the new regime,” Banerjee said.
