Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is happy that British Prime Minister David Cameron has invited her to london. The Chief Minister who had a one-on-one meeting with the PM on Thursday evening later wrote in a social networking site about how “positive and fruitful” the talks were.
She said, “the Prime Minister invited me to london,” adding that detailed talks were held in which Cameron said that his country “want to invest here.” The “discussions were also good in the interest of India and Britain” she said adding that country wanted to invest in sectors like tourism, transport, particularly inland water transport and riverfront beautification which has been one of the main areas of focus for Chief Minister.
Curiously, Banerjee before her coming to power in Bengal had promised to transform Kolkata into london. In fact Cameron’s fancy with the erstwhile second capital of the British empire was seen when he visited a number of colonial landmarks including Howrah Station, Howrah Bridge, BBD Bagh, Bardhan market etc.
