Didi discovers Gabbar in Modi

Published on:

Mamata Banerjee once again attacked PM Narendra Modi for his ‘insensitive and anti-people policy of demonetisation that has hit the poor the hardest’ and seemingly compared him with Sholay anti-hero Gabbar Singh.

Giving speech in the House she said if the Prime Minister wanted he could arrest ‘all of us’ and added the situation in Bengal had come to a pass ‘as if one is threatening the kids telling them to keep quite lest Gabbar Singh will come.’ Though the Chief Minister would not name Modi the linkages of her statement tended to say it all even as she alleged that the Prime Minister’s decision to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes had hurt the poor the most. “Any decision should be taken by keeping the poor in mind first. But here the decisions are taken to back the rich.”
