Dhumal writes to Sonia on CM's misdeeds

Published on:

Intensifying campaign against Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, leader of Opposition in the Assembly Prem Kumar Dhumal on Monday shot off a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday detailing allegation of corruption with facts.

Reacting to Virbhadra’s statement that his family has indulged in money laundering, Dhumal said in his letter, “The money laundering allegation that you have levelled is reflection of your own misdeeds.”

He continued, “You feel by putting false counter allegations against your political adversaries, you can still escape out of fact based graft charges levelled against you. Your diversionary and beating about the bush tactics will not work this time.”

Referring to disclosures in Income Tax investigations, Dhumal said those who indulge in money laundering produce thousands of tonnes of apples in three years and transport them to market on scooters and oil tankers.

Dhumal said such people not only mislead the people of the state but also their party high command by twisting and hiding facts. For safeguarding their post, they get statements issued through their ministers & MlAs, who are not even aware of what statement has been issued.

Dhumal asked 10 questions from Virbhadra Singh on the charges saying that his answers are needed by the people of the state to know the factual position. He further said that it was chief minister’s old tactics that when he is cornered on graft charges, he calls it a conspiracy.

“This time you charged the BJP and Congress leaders for hatching a conspiracy. Kindly explain that producing apples worth crores in your orchards, getting insurance policies worth many crores in your and your family members name, getting unsecured loans worth crores, transporting tonnes of apples on Scooters to market, were these all conspiracies hatched by BJP and your Congress friends IJ Allotment of shares and formation of

“Maple Destination and Dreambuild Pvt. ltd.,” (100 percent owned by your family), was this also a conspiracy by opposition party leaders,” added Dhumal.

leader of opposition then advised the Chief Minister to introspect. “It is time for you to introspect and rather than accusing your political detractors, you must immediately resign. It may so happen that you continue with your combative stance and your top leadership removes you under compulsion,” said Dhumal.

He also wrote a letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi and said, “I hope by now the matter might have come to your knowledge about the happenings in Himachal Pradesh where the chief minister Virbhadra Singh is trying to mislead the party high command and the public at large about his misdeeds,” said Dhumal.

“We had raised certain issues about the wrong doings of chief ministerand his family. Specific instances and issues were mentioned but he isbeating about the bush and avoiding specific reply. Instead of givingspecific reply, he is trying to misguide the party high command and the common man,” added Dhumal.
