In an effort towards bringing about socioeconomic changes in the poor but minerals-rich State of Odisha, the MB Shah Commission on Sunday welcomed the mega CSR plan under the Gramin Vikas Chaitanya Kendra (GVCK) formed by mining companies of the State with a fund of Rs 100 crore for development of Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts.
“It is indeed a very good beginning. I believe that if this plan succeeds then it will not just benefit the people of Odisha but would also prove as a benchmark for the other States,” said Justice Shah. State Chief Secretary BK Patnaik was present at the commission’s hearing in Ahmedabad to ensure that all the plans were well-communicated to the Government.
