Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Friday witnessed a high drama over the issue of Opposition YSR Congress member Roja’s return to the House after the Hyderabad HC stayed her suspension for one year.
As Roja armed with the copy of the HC order tried to enter the Assembly she was stopped citing the orders of the Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao.
The security officials also refused permission to the lawyers of Roja who wanted to hand over the copy of court order to the legislature secretary.
At one stage leader of the Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy tried to take the lawyers in his car inside the Assembly but the police stopped his convoy.
As the HC order came against Roja, speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao decided to file an appeal against single judge order before the High Court Division Bench.
The petition was on Friday filed by the Secretary, AP legislature and the hearing has been slated to Monday.
The petition claimed that Roja was suspended because of her inappropriate behaviour and the decision was taken by the entire House and not speaker alone.

leader of the Opposition Jaganmohan Reddy strongly condemned the “high handed” attitude of the Speaker and said that his party members will come to the Assembly tomorrow in black dress as a mark of protest.
Roja was suspended from the House for one year after she had launched an aggressive attack on the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Roja, a film actress turned politician from Naidu’s home district Chittoor was earlier in Telugu Desam but later joined YSRCP.
