In view of the prediction of Met Department that dense fog would continue for the next some days across the country particularly in the northern and north-western regions of the country, the East Coast Railways (ECoR) has given instructions to the train pilots, guards, station staffs and other safety related staff involved in train operations to accord highest priority for safe train running during foggy weather.
Besides, the loco pilots and guards were instructed to ensure that, they should put the safety of the passengers at the top and should run trains at such reduced speed in foggy weather as they feel
confident and comfortable, even if it means loss of punctuality to the train.
Train operations have been badly affected in view of dense fog and poor visibility which has been reduced to less than 50 meters in late night and early morning hours and 150 meters in day time.
