Rebel BJP leader and former Union Minister in Vajpayee led NDA Government Shatrugan Sinha said that Hardik Patel’s ongoing fast agitation was inspired by all parties (except BJP) as 25-year-old pro-quota leader has raised issues of farmers.

The 72-year-old actor turned politician on Tuesday reached at Hardik’s residence along with another BJP rebel leader and former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha to meet the convener of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS).

“Hardik is youngster and future of the nation. His demand for waiver in farmers’ debt is appropriate. It is very sad that neither central nor state government representative visited him. Party is bigger than an individual and the nation is even bigger than party,” said Sinha while talking to media persons.

He went on to say that much talked about Gujarat Model is already failed. If BJP ruled Governments in other state could waive farmers’ debt, why Gujarat’s farmers should be left behind, added the sitting Member of Parliament from Patana Sahib lok Sabha constituency.

Former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha said that the agitation initiated by Hardik, especially raising the issues of farmers, would be taken to every corner of the country. leaders from different political parties were prepared to stand with him, he said adding, “Strong Maharashtra leader Nana Patole tried to raise issues related to farmers before Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but PM kept on ignoring him. Hence, Patole decided to resign as Member of Parliament as well as from BJP. Issues of farmers should be taken seriously including that of waiver in debts.”
