Police said that the gang used to arrange forged Polish Residence Visa with the help of his accomplice based in Poland. Police have also seized 18 Indian Passports, 11 debit cards, six mobile phones and other incriminating material from the possession of the accused.

According to Tanu Sharma, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), IGI airport, on June 15, Sarbjit Singh holding Indian Passport and Poland residence visa approached for departure Immigration clearance to Paris.

“The visa seemed to be doubtful and after thorough scrutiny it was found to be fake without any specific UV features and intaglio mark,” said the DCP adding that a case under section 420/468/471/120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 12 Passport Act was registered and investigation was taken up.

“During investigation accused Sarabjeet Singh was arrested and on interrogation, he disclosed that Jasveer (An ASI of Punjab Police), and resident of Nawa Shahar, Punjab assured him that he can arrange Polish residence visa for him in lieu of Rs 12 lakh and shared contacts of his associates Priyanka and Parveen based in Delhi,” said the DCP.

“On hearing about the arrest of Sarabjit, agents Parveen and Priyanka, who apparently are husband and wife, fled from their rented home at Dwarka and to evade arrest they continuously kept on changing their location,” said the DCP.

“However, the couple was intercepted and nabbed from Jaipur. It is pertinent to mention here that the accused person with malafide  intention had also induced one relative of Sarabjeet Singh identified as Swarn Lal alias Bittu and had taken an amount on the pretext of arranging Polish visa for his son,” said the DCP.

“The couple was involved in arranging fake Polish Visas along with their counterpart Vishal alias Paaji in Poland and Jasvir in Punjab. They are mostly operating in areas of Punjab and adjoining Haryana and facilitate people in settling down in Europe by unfair means,” said the DCP adding that further investigation is going on.
