Delhi is all set to go green this Independence Day with disposable tricolour sweeping the market post plastic ban. Unlike plastic flags which are non-biodegradable and pose a threat to the nature, these paper-made flags are environment-savvy and can be disposed off without a worry. Not only that, the love for patriotism has taken the sale of these paper-made Tricolours to at an all-time high this season.
Other than that, badges, wrist bands, caps and t-shirts wearing patriotic slogans have attracted a host of buyers ahead of the I-Day, but the wholesalers at Sadar Bazar are of the view that the business of sale of tirangas has shot up ever since the ban on plastic flags.
These biodegradable flags are paper-made are environment-friendly. “These flags are made of paper and they follow the same process as leaves for decomposition and takes about two to four days to get decomposed,” said Anil Gupta, a wholesaler in Sadar Bazar.
