Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday launched a song for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, which is on September 17.  The song, Namo Pragati Dilli — Baal Swar Se Rashtra Swar Tak,  has been prepared by the Education department to celebrate Modi’s 75th birthday. This song has been sung by children from Delhi’s Government schools and incorporates melodies in 21 languages.

It stands as a powerful symbol of the Prime Minister’s nation-building journey and his commitment to the ‘One India, Best India’ vision. Upon arriving at the Secretariat, the chief minister was warmly welcomed by the children of Delhi’s Government schools. Over 50 schools participated, showcasing talents in singing, dancing, photography, videography, and choreography. Over 400 students contributed to the creation, recording, and performance of this special song, dedicated to the Prime Minister.

In addition, students prepared over 300 handmade greeting cards, inscribed with personalised birthday wishes. These cards were handed to the Chief Minister, who assured the students that she would personally deliver them, along with the song, to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The chief minister said, “For years, PM Modi has worked for Delhi like a lifeline. Despite this, the previous Governments have continuously criticised him and used inappropriate language. Today, our Government expresses its heartfelt gratitude to him.” She also thanked school students for wishing him, and said she would send the cards made by them the same day so that the Prime Minister receives them on Wednesday.

“I promise to send your cards today itself so that he gets them tomorrow. He will like the way you have wished him in multiple languages in this song,” the chief minister said. During the event, the Chief Minister interacted warmly with the children, embracing them, encouraging their enthusiasm, and appreciating their efforts.

She spent time with the students over high tea and took a group selfie with them. On this occasion, Delhi’s Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood and Manjinder Singh Sirsa were also present.

She said that during the 15-day ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, the Government will launch multiple initiatives in the field of education. “From CM Shri schools to new curricula, Rashtra Neeti, Neev and Nipun, multiple programmes will be launched to enable children to learn and for the development of their personalities,” she said at the song launch.

A special morning walk has been organised as well on Wednesday at 7 AM on Kartavya Path as part of celebrations marking Modi’s birthday.
