Firing a salvo in his typical style against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal said that why Modi was appealing to the people to make sacrifices on his wrong decision of demonetisation instead of doing the same by himself and claimed that it was the biggest scam of Rs 8 lakh crores as by it Modi had supported the big capitalists.
According to him, out of these Rs 8 lakh crores, so far he had waived off the debts of Rs 1,14,000 crores of the capitalists. “If Congress was involved in Rs 2 lakh crore 2G scam, Modi has hit a Chakka (six) on a single ball,” he said while addressing a rally at Beniya Bagh here on Wednesday.
Alleging the charges on Modi further, he claimed that some documents were seized from the computer of Birla during raids on October 15, 2013 in which it was written that Birla had to pay Rs 25 crores to Gujarat CM and out of that he had paid Rs 12 crores. Besides, during the raids at the premises of Sahara on November 22, 2014 by Income Tax in which a paper was also found that Rs 130 crores would be paid to some leaders including Rs 2.5 crores to Modi in Ahmedabad on October 30, 2013; Rs 5.10 crores on November 12, 2013; Rs 2.5 crores on November 27; Rs 5 crores on November 29 same year. He alleged that in all Rs 40 crores were given to Modi through some middleman.
He said that he had a file in which there are names of 648 persons who have black money and Modi was protecting these persons. According to him, so far RBI had not printed as many as new currency as the number was seized from different places. He said that demonetisation has promoted fake currency trade in the country and alleged that Modi had waived off debts of Rs 1,200 of Vijay Malaya.
After losing the parliamentary elections from Modi about two and a half years ago, it was the first attempt of Kejriwal to cardon-off his political enemy target number one in his own constituency. However, in the manner the party was doing hectic efforts for weeks to make the rally a grand success, there was no such impressive gathering seen as it was generally seen during the campaigning of lok Sabha elections in 2014. Besides, as he reached the venue at Beniya Bagh more than an hour late due to foggy conditions, it also hit on the number of crowds there, though it is such a ground where good gathering of crowds is not very surprising because of its surroundings by Muslim-dominated localities.
Reiterating what he had said in a number of times in the past, Kejriwal, once again, blamed Modi for favouring the capitalists like Ambani, Adani and Malaya by waiving off their debts by the money of the poor people of the nation. Praising his own achievements, he said when first time he came to power in Delhi as CM within 49 days he had made the Delhi government corruption –free. On the other hands, he added that by promising the people of the country to fight against terrorism, corruption and black money effectively, Modi has forced the people today to stand in lines.
According to him, he never thought for political mileage but always came forward to raise the issues of the public and it is the reason why involving himself in campaigning of the party in Punjab and Goa he was opposing demonetization. Wooing the weavers who are in sizeable number in the city, Kejriwal said that demonetization has broken their backbone. He said that in the name to stopping the funding of terrorists by demonetization, Modi had supported the capitalists one. “So far 84 people died while standing in lines at banks and ATMs and these were not simple deaths but murders,” he said, asking who was responsible for the sameIJ He himself answered the same holding Modi responsible for all the deaths.
