The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted searches at the house of a suspect in Defence/ISI UP espionage case, Rajakbhai Kumbhar of Mundra district of Gujarat.
This case arose out of UP ATS case registered on January 19 this year at Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, pertaining to the arrest of accused Mohammad Rashid, of Mughal Sarai in Chandoli district of UP.
The NIA subsequently took over the case and the probe has revealed that Rashid was in touch with Defence/ISI handlers of Pakistan.
NIA reregistered this case on April 6 this year under Indian Penal Code section.
