The body of a young girl was found in a highly decomposed state, in outer Delhi area of Narela on Friday. Family members of a 19-year-old girl who went missing from her residence in North East Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar area claimed that it was their daughter, however, the police officials said that a DNA test would be conducted to ascertain her identity since the description given by her father does not match completely.
According to the police, the girl has been missing from her house since July 13. She had left home to get food after coming back from school and had met two of her friends near their house. She went with them to a park nearby and went missing since then. The family members said that they reported the matter to the police when she did not return in the evening. A case of kidnapping was also registered at the police station on the basis of the complaint filed by the family members.
“We did not know the two girls with whom she had gone to the park and suspected them to be involved in some way. We could not trace them after my sister went missing,” said the girl’s brother. On Friday the cops called one of the family members to identify a body at a hospital in outer Delhi which the family members claimed belonged to the girl but the police refused to hand it over to them since the description of the girl given by her father did not match that of the body.Police said that they are questioning a girl in the locality who had seen the girl before she went missing.
