Aligarh: two more cows have died in the Gaushala (destitute gaushala shelter site) of the Nagar Nigam located at Baraula Bypass. The number of dead cows has risen to 7 in two days. The condition of a bull is critical. The Nagar Nigam administration is planning for the investigation soon after the arrival of Nagar Nigam Commissioner Premaranjan Singh.
5 cows died in the Gaushala at Baraula Bypass. Sick cows are being treated by veterinarians after the traumatic event. Meanwhile, the death of two sick cows one by one has created tension in the Nagar Nigam office. The condition of a bull is critical. Treatment of some other sick cows is going on. Many municipal officials including Assistant Municipal Commissioner Raj Bahadur Singh went to the Gaushala and were busy fixing the arrangements there. From cleanliness to broken railings are being repaired. There were a total of 123 cows and bulls in the gaushala, of which 7 have died. Assistant Municipal Commissioner Raj Bahadur Singh told that in a postmortem of a cow, 25 to 30 kg of polythene took out from the stomach. He further told that the matter will be investigate after the arrival of Municipal Commissioner and a show-cause notice will be issued to those found guilty. After the death of seven cows, the District Magistrate and public representatives have also sought information in this regard from the Nagar Nigam.
Goshala veterinarian Dr. Ramesh Chandra said that the excessive amount of polythene in the stomach is the main cause of death. Nagar Nigam authorities are also considering polythene as the cause of death.
People are not able to digest the Nagar Nigam’s justification for the cow’s death. The question is, how can 7 cows have died one by one after eating polyethylene within 24 hours.
Nagar Nigam officials kept saying since Monday that the cow had come here in critical conditions and there is no negligence from the gaushala end. It is revealed in the postmortem report that the cow has died due to eating polythene. The locals are unable to digest the Nagar Nigam justification. If the cow was admitted here in critical or ill condition and needed treatment, then why they were not given any proper medical treatment?
No vet came to the gaushala. Gaushala employees said that 3 cows had died and this information was given to the control room. The question is why the dead cows were not taken out from the gaushala. For more than 12 hours the cows were left to rot the dead body. If the photos and videos of the deceased cows were not uploaded on social media, then no one came to know the cause of the death of the cows. Some cow devotees phoned and informed the media about the whole case. Local people are demanding a high-level inquiry for this matter.
