Applicants of the mega Housing Scheme of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will have to wait further for the results as the housing agency has postponed the draw of lots. Earlier scheduled on November 5, the much awaited draw of lots now may be conducted on November 10. The delay, which the authority claims has happened as the complete data of applicants is yet to be complied, is set to come heavily on the 13 empaneled banks as the DDA is also issuing show cause notices to them for its failure to update data by the stipulated deadline.
The 2014 housing scheme which has 25034 flats on offer was closed on October 9. The DDA had planned to make the entire process swift but it seems that it is caught up in its own trap. Officials said that several application that the agency received are incomplete too. "The draw of lots to the housing scheme. Will have to be postponed as the data of applicants is not ready. The Vice Chaorman has directed us to expedite the process and upload the data of all applications by October 31," said a senior DDA official.
Besides, November 10 is again a "tentative date" the authority maintained indicting that it may be postponed further. "There are many applications which are incomplete or where applicants want to make corrections. Hence, the housing scheme's draw may be delayed further as we are planning to give three days time to people so that they can make the necessary corrections," the official added.
Meanwhile, pulling up the 13 empaneled banks which the authority blamed for the delay, the DDA has sent showcause notices to them for delays in uploading data for the housing scheme.
