Communal tension flared up in Balia after a 35-year-old dalit woman was allegedly battered to death in Bimapura area on Monday evening, for opposing her neighbour for teasing her young daughter. Senior officers rushed to the spot backed by a heavy force and a close vigil was being maintained to avert any violent clash.
As per reports, the minor daughter of Pushpa at Bimapura locality of Ballia, had been complaining about lewd advances made by their neighbour Taiyab aka Teni. Ignoring the complainants from over a month, Pushpa decided to complain to the parents of the youth on Monday evening. This did not go down well with Teni who confronted Pushpa. After a brief exchange of words, he brutally battered her with a rod to death.
