Dalit leader and Congress supported independent MlA Jignesh Mevani is all set to form an organisation named ‘Dalit Muslim Ekta Manch’. Mevani surfaced in the political arena of Gujarat post infamous Una Dalit flogging incident that took place in July 2015.
The activist turned politician is clearly preparing for the upcoming assembly polls with a view to snatch away Dalit votes from the saffron party. If sources have to be believed, Mevani’s move would be beneficial for the main Opposition Congress party.
