CSAT row to be resolved soon

The Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) row is likely to be resolved in the next couple of days following the submission of report of the three-member committee constituted to examine the UPSC’s civil services exam on Thursday.

Sources in the Government said that the Arvind Verma committee submitted its report which will be further examined by the Home Ministry and DoPT before taking a final call on the continuation of the controversial CSAT pattern of exam. UPSC has started issuing online admit cards for preliminary entrance exam scheduled for August 24. Sources said that the Government is likely to apprise the Parliament on Friday on the way ahead. Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh assured the House of a positive decision for better future of the aspirants.

The Parliament during the past several days have been witnessing uproar over the issue since members have been demanding scrapping of the controversial CSAT pattern of entrance. The report comes after the Government on Wednesday had declined to give a timeframe in Rajya Sabha for resolving the row over UPSC examination pattern but promised to solve it soon.
