The CPI (M) on Monday announced nationwide protests against the Centre for 15 days in August. Speaking to mediapersons here, CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury criticised the Government for the "deteriorating economic crisis, intensifying communal polarisation and undermining parliamentary democratic norms." The agitations are planned to be held between August 1 and August 14.
"The economic condition is deteriorating; communal polarisation intensifying, Centre-State relationship deteriorating, parliamentary democratic norms are being undermined. The sum total of this is actually undermining the Republican order of the country and imposing greater burden on people. "CPI (M) will politically intervene in this situation to build up the strength of people's movement in order to pressurise this Government to reverse its policies which are against the interests and livelihood of people," Yechury said.
