In a major development in the cash-for-vote scam, the Anti-Corruption Bureau court in Hyderabad on Friday ordered that the voice samples of two Telugu Desam Party members of Telangana Assembly be sent to the State Forensic Science laboratory for comparison with the voices on audio and videotapes.

The two MlAs include A Revanth Reddy, the prime accused and S Venkata Veeraiah another accused in in the case of bribing a nominated member of Assembly Elvis Stephenson.

Both the MlAs were arrested by the Telangana ACB and questioned about their role in the scam. Presently they are out on bail.

The order came after the Anti-Corruption Bureau filed a memo before the court on Friday seeking directions that the records of speeches of the two MlAs in the State Assembly should be sent to the SFSl for testing.

The ACB also handed over the recorded speeches of the two MlAs in the Assembly to the court. Accepting the request of the ACB, the court forwarded the recorded speeches to the SFSl.

The order came a day after the SFSl report confirmed that the audio and video tapes of cash-for-vote scam were genuine and no tampering was done with them. ACB had sent 14 audio and video recordings of Revanth Reddy’s meeting with the nominated MlA Elvis Stephenson and Venkat Veeraia’s telephonic conversation with another accused when they tried to broker a deal with Stephenson to secure his vote for a TDP candidate in legislative council elections.
