Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the country needed another Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who could restrict divisive forces like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) so that the country could develop without any bias.
“Sardar Patel might be remembered by the country for different reasons. But for me, he would be remembered for banning the RSS,” Akhilesh said while paying tributes to Sardar Patel on his 144th birth anniversary in Lucknow on Thursday.
The SP chief said that today, a person like Sardar Patel was required in the country to take action against divisive forces trying to divide society in the name of religion.
The SP had directed all party units in the districts to hold functions on Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary.
On the occasion, Akhilesh Yadav also attacked the Yogi Adityanath Government over the misrule in the state and claimed that law and order was at its lowest point.
