Even after three days of alleged abduction of Bhim Singh Munda, police have failed to find his whereabouts. Munda was lifted away by two unidentified persons while returning home from his college. Munda, Chairman of Nilay Institute of Technology located at Thakurgaon, about 15 kms from the state headquarters Ranchi was abducted near a culvert near the college on Monday evening.

“Despite making all our efforts, we are not getting any trace of Munda,” said SP Rural SK Jha. Almost everyone related to Munda have been interrogated but we have not been able to find any clue regarding his whereabouts, added Jha. When asked about the news regarding a ransom of Rs2 crore demanded by the some unidentified gangs, Jha denied having any news in this regard as he has not been told by anything about any of his family members.

“We have no idea about any ransom call and we are still not in a position to comment on those who are behind this abduction,” Jha added. Jha however reiterated that it does not seem to be a handiwork of CPI (M).

Police sources are still pointing towards the lenders, to whom Munda owed money as he was neck deep into loans and also said to have received threat calls from lenders a few days back. Munda was intercepted by a white Scorpio without number plate on it and was dragged out of his car on the gun point and was taken away by two youths at the river culvert as he came out of Thakurgaon along with his driver and college employee.
