Delhi Police has made an elaborate arrangement to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat on the intervening night of June 2 and June 3. The devotees are likely to travel throughout the night from one place to another from 8 pm onwards.
The traffic arrangements will remain in place from 8 pm on June 2 to 6 am on June 3 to ensure safety of motorists on roads, ensure smooth flow of traffic and keep the pedestrians on the pavements. Traffic staff will be deployed at 196 strategic locations in south, north, north-east, central and New Delhi districts.
“Major roads will be barricaded and special checking teams armed with alcometers will be deployed at major intersections to detect and prosecute traffic violators,” said Special Commissioner of Police (traffic) Muktesh Chander.
