Aligarh SSP suspended inspector Praveen Kumar Maan of Iglas police station on negligence in connection with the rape of a 4-year-old girl from Sadabad, living in her aunt’s home in a village in the Iglas area of Aligarh.
Police filed a case 4 days later. The girl was raped by her aunt's son, after which the girl was undergoing treatment and on Monday, she died in the hospital. Angry girl's family members and villagers blocked the Baldev Khandauli road by placing the body on the road at 8 o'clock in the night. They sat on the road overnight demanding the suspension of the inspector and the jam opened on Tuesday when officials assured them of action. DM Aligarh Chandra Bhushan Singh announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the victim's family. Negligence on the part of the police, in this case, came into light. At first, the police were not accepting this as rape.
The wife of a village-based person, resident of the Sadabad police station area died in January. He has 2 sons and 2 daughters. Three months ago, his sister-in-law, a resident of Iglas police station, took his children with her but after 15 days the sister-in-law left both of his sons but kept both daughters with her on the excuse of her son’s marriage. Last month, the person got the information about the cruelty to his 4-year-old girl at which he filed a complaint against his sister-in-law. He came to know that his daughter was raped and locked in the toilet which caused worms in her private part. After getting this information on the child helpline, they admitted the girl for treatment at JN Medical College from where she was referred to Delhi where she died on Monday. Iglas police had arrested the accused 12 days ago and sent him to the Juvenile home of Mathura.
SSP Aligarh Muniraj said that the Iglas inspector has been suspended for his negligence in this case. The accused boy was arrested on 24th September and he admitted his crime. A team has also been made to search and arrest the aunt.
