Maintaining that population control is not a challenge for a "particular caste-community" but it is a "mammoth challenge" for the entire country, senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday said here that no country can ignore or afford the problem of population explosion.
While replying to questions of newspersons here, Naqvi said we all have to work together to find a way for its solution.
"Increasing this problem by making religion a security cover is neither in the interest of the country nor the society", he said. The former Minister, the only Muslim face in the Modi-cabinet who made his exit from it recently with reports of a new "weighty" assignment waiting for him, said that effective measures taken by most of the countries of the world to control population have yielded positive results.
"People of these countries have supported their respective governments and administrations in efforts to control increasing population," he said. Naqvi said that some people want to create "unlimited problems on the pretext of Allah's wish" on the issue of population control.
