To ensure balanced and equitable development of all rural villages of Delhi, Chief Secretary DM Spolia on Sunday instructed the Commissioner, Development of Government of NCT of Delhi and all the Deputy Commissioners/District Magistrates to consult the local MlA/MP so that they can prioritise their needs in consultation with them for seeking necessary approval from the Development Department. City administration has fixed Rs 1.25 crore per village for its planned development. Spolia has asked them to submit timely progress report for ensuring Development of the villages.

According to an official release, the Chief Secretary, while instructing them referred the instructions issued by the Development Commissioner of Delhi to them during the meeting of Delhi Rural Development Board (DRDB) convened by him wherein, all the DCs/DMs were present and informed that monitoring of the rural work would be done by the respective Deputy Commissioners to ensure their completion in a time-bound manner as the lt. Governor has already approved this mechanism of planned development of rural villages of Delhi.

Spolia also instructed all the Deputy Commissioners to comply with the orders of Development Commissioner, wherein they were asked to submit a list of pending schemes less than Rs 1.25 crore.

More than Rs 1.25 crore approved by DRDB alongwith the brief guidelines to them for this purpose, informing them that the Rural Development has the sanctioned budget of Rs 200 crore for the current financial year 2014-15 and out of which the spillover liability of about Rs 80 crore exists, hence, schemes upto Rs 120 crore would be spent in this Financial Year.
