Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Raj Babbar claimed that the party is ready to throw out all the three political opponents who had pushed the State towards under-development, backwardness, poverty, lawlessness et al during the last 27-years of non-Congress rule.
"This is the land of Malik Mohamed Jais from where former Prime Minister Jawahar lal Nehru had pledged to throw out the British from India. Now from the same land, we again took pledge to free this State from the misrule of SP, BSP, BJP and put it again on the path of development and progress and particularly to end the fight between the communities and religions", asserted Babbar, while addressing a huge gathering that turned out at Jais in Amethi during the second day of the party's bus yatra "27 Saal-UP behal" campaign on Monday.
The yatra was flagged off by AICC general secretary and State in-charge Gulam Nabi Azad on Sunday. Babbar accompanied by senior Congress leader and MP Pramod Tewari appealed to support the Congress so that the dreams of every citizen could be fulfilled.
Meanwhile, chairman of the UPCC Media Cell Satyadeo Tripathi claimed that the yatra received an encouraging response as it spread the message of no caste, religious divide rule. "We have successfully put across the message to the people to unite them and not divide them on the basis of caste and religion, as parties like Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and BJP have done during their rule in the State in the last 27 years," Tripathi said.
According to him, the bus yatra undertaken under the leadership of UPCC chief Raj Babbar and chief ministerial candidate Sheila Dikshit successfully highlighted the failures of the successive Governments in the State.
