Bharatiya Janata Party poster boy Narendra Modi was once again in his true saffron spirit and bowling one bouncer after another against the top leadership of the Congress party during his whirlwind electioneering tour in Chhattisgarh on Thursday.

Accusing the Congress leadership of deceiving people in the poll, the Gujarat Chief Minister cautioned the people of the Congress’ hidden agenda of capturing power through backdoor. likening the present Assembly poll as a fight between Chhattisgarhia and deceiver, Modi dared the grand old party to open the name of their chief ministerial candidate.

“When Chhattisgarh people, media, newspapers, political parties and others want to know the name of Congress chief ministerial candidate and ask the Congress party to reveal the name, why it was not opening its card,’’ Modi asked and wanted to know the true reason (sinful story) behind not revealing the name even if local Congress leaders whispered about the possibility of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi being the real choice.

Modi said that it was the fear of losing the poll which prevented Congress from naming its chief ministerial candidate for Chhattisgarh.

Taking at face value the statements of Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others telling people in election rallies that UPA government gave thousands of crores to Chhattisgarh which the BJP government did not utilise, the BJP prime ministerial candidate jeered at them asking that whether the fund given to Chhattisgarh was brought from their paternal/maternal uncle’s house or had the people of the State begged for the same.

“Madam (Soniaji) aati hain, Sahenjade (Rahul) aaten hain aur kahte hain humne hazaron crore rupaye Chhattisgarh ko diye. Mein puchhana chahta hoon ki kya ye rupaye yeh log apne mama ke ghar se lakar diye, kya Chhattisgarh ke log katore lekar khade the is paison ke liyeIJ Modi asked in chaste Hindi and said this was in total contempt of Chhattisgarh people as the money with the Central Government belonged to the people of this country and this State.

On the question of fighting against insurgency also he put the blame squarely on Congress led UPA saying that the grand old party is ruling at the Centre but skirting its responsibility of stamping out Maoist issue and praised the Raman Government for standing rigidly before the rebels. He also lauded the achievements of Raman Government and asked the people to vote in favour of BJP to enable it make hat-trick of forming Government in the State.
