Congress slams NDA over Govt formation in Delhi, black money

The Congress on Wednesday slammed the NDA Government alleging lopsided affairs and flip-flops on issues ranging from handling of black money matter or formation of a BJP-led Government in Delhi. Taunting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who used to propagate ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’, the party said the new dispensation at the Centre is with ‘Minimum Government maximum event management’.

“For the last five months, the BJP has misled people of the country on various promises made during the election campaign. Be it the issue of bringing back black money, cleaning the Ganga or on the issue of Government formation in Delhi, this Government has shown that it believes in mere words not action. If there is any achievement to the credit of the Government after five months it is good event management,” said AICC spokesperson Shobha Ozha.

Ozha said senior BJP leader lK Adavni’s comment on Modi that he is a good event manager has come true. “Modi’s entire  focus is on event management. It is a Government with ‘Minimum Government maximum event management. Advani’s statement that Mr Narendra modi is a good event manager seems to have come true,” Oza said during the routine AICC briefing.

Criticising the Centre on its take on the Government formation in Delhi, Ozha said, “The Supreme Court has rapped this Government on the issue yet we fail to understand how the BJP, which refused the offer to form a Government in Delhi earlier is now in a position to form a Government. It is now clear that the party is looking for horse trading and now shying away from elections”.

Taking a swipe at the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme by the Prime Minister, she said that people have realised that they do not want mere sweet talk from the PM instead implementation of the promises made during elections.

Another party spokesman Ajoy Kumar downplayed questions regarding donation by Timblo Pvt ltd, an alleged black money account holder, to Congress. He said that it should be noted that prosecution against the company started when the Congress-led UPA was in power. He added that whatever the Government is saying today has already been tasked by the UPA Government and is not a five month work of the new regime.
