Congress manifesto woos every section

When the people of Chhattisgarh are gearing up for the third Assembly polls of the State scheduled on November 11 and 18, the Congress on Monday unveiled its poll manifesto vowing to realise the dreams and expectations of each of the over 2.5 crore inhabitants of the State.

Declaring that the common man’s welfare was on top of its agenda, the party promised to deliver social and economic justice to the labourious people of this mineral rich State by channelising resources in such a manner that integrated and sustainable growth can be ensured without harming the environment.

The party was also committed to remove the irregularity, inequality and predilection which shadowed the social and economic scenario of State in the last 10 years negating the very concept of creation of a separate Chhattisgarh State to overcome the regional imbalance in terms of development.

Increase in the number of BPl families and lower per capita income in comparison of national average are some of the glaring example of these irregularities.

The situation is worse in rural areas inhabited by adivasis as a CAG report in 2011 showed 62 per cent kids in Bastar as malnourished, that too in a situation when welfare schemes worth thousands of crores were under implementation, the party claimed.

It also said that the Government formed by the Congress after the election will not only work for the betterment of farmers and rural folk but also make them realise their real potential and participate in development of the State.
