Former DPCC chief and senior Congress leader JP Aggarwal on Friday resigned from Dusshera organising committee protesting its decision to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Aggrawal, who was chief patron of 'Shri Ram lila Committee' (Ramlila Ground), objected to the Committee's decision to invite PM to the event. Sources in the committee said that after the members overruled Aggarwal, he decided to quit the committee.
They said that the Congress leader only wanted to extend the invitation to his party leaders for Vijayadashmi celebrations. "We have been calling Prime Ministers for the
Dusshera celebrations for a long time. It doesn't matter from which political party they belong to. This year, committee has decided
to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi," sources said.
