Congress dubs BJP's 'Mission 44+' a joke

The Congress has challenged the BJP to win a single seat in Kashmir and termed the party’s “Mission 44+” as “nothing more than a joke”.

“BJP’s target of 44 (seats) in the State is nothing more than a joke. I say with authority that the BJP will not get a single seat in the Valley,” Meem Afzal, AICC spokesperson said here.

He expressed his surprise over how the BJP chose the candidates to contest in the polls in Kashmir.“leave others, I don’t think the BJP candidates who are contesting elections in the Valley will get votes even from their own family members,” he said.

Afzal said the Congress will not allow the BJP to form the next Government in the State and any party which supports the BJP in forming a Government will die a ‘political death’.“The BJP will not be able to form a Government in Jammu & Kashmir and it will be a political death for those who would to go with the BJP,” he said.

He said that around 10,000 workers of the RSS were working in Jammu.“The BJP is using maulvis (Islamic preachers) to befool the people. But the people of the State are secular and they will not allow a communal party like BJP to succeed,”

he said.
