Hundreds of Delhi Congress workers staged a demonstration outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters at DDU Marg, demanding to repeal the three farms law enacted by the Centre.
The Congress workers under the leadership of party Delhi unit president Anil Kumar marched towards BJP office carrying placards and banners with slogans such as “Anndata Par Atyachar, Band Karo Modi Sarkar”, “Modi Ki Niyat Me Khot Hai, Kisan Majdooro Ke Hito Par Chot Hai”.
The party leaders claimed that they were forcefully stopped and detained by the police.
Addressing the Congress workers, Kumar said that the three anti-farmer Acts--the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020-will crush the farm sector across the country, detrimental to the farmers’ interest, who have been feeding the country in good and bad times, even during the Covid-19 lockdown, when the entire country was immobilised due to the pandemic.
