State Congress criticised the Samajwadi Party Government for using official machinery to terrorise the Dalit thinker and writer Kanwal Bharati and claimed that it was not just unconstitutional but also an attack on freedom of people.
Party claimed that they will meet the victim and take first hand account and if charges against the State Government are found to be true then the party will launch an agitation to save democratic values and fundamental rights of the citizens.
