Over the issue of deletion of names from voters’ list during the first phase of local body polls on Sunday, the Congress has raised serious concern over the credibility of the State Election Commission (SEC).
Talking to media, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Bharatsinh Solanki on Tuesday said people of Gujarat have lost faith in SEC. “SEC seems to be working as State Government’s arm. We fear that like first phase of the local body polls, names of eligible electorates would be deleted again in the certain areas from electorate rolls,” he said, adding that the legal arm of GPCC is working and collecting the evidence to challenges SEC in the court.
