The legislators of the main Opposition Congress in Gujarat were suspended for a day by Gujarat legislative Assembly Speaker for creating chaos in the well of the House even demanding Chief Minister Anandiben Patel’s resignation over corruption and nepotism in allocation of land to her daughter’s business partners near Gir Sanctuary.
MlAs of Congress party were marshalled out of the Assembly after they continued their demonstration carrying placards even after the Speaker had ordered their suspension. The trouble in the Assembly began when the Speaker denied Mahendrasinh Baraiya, Congress MlA from Prantij, permission to place a draft resolution regarding the Gir forest land deal. This saw Congress legislators resorting to shouting slogans and showcasing placards. later, speaker Ganpat Vasava suspended all the Congress legislators from the Assembly for the day.
