Cong leaders meet Guv, demands Yogi's removal

Published on:

leaders of UP Congress met Governor Ram Naik on Wednesday and submitted memorandum of demands that included sacking of the Yogi Government for its failure in all fields.

The Congress delegation led by Ajay Kumar lalu called on the Governor at Raj Bhawan soon after a Samajwadi Party delegation met Naik on Wednesday afternoon.

The Congress delegation submitted before the Governor that the BJP government in the state had lost the moral right to continue even for a day after being responsible for the death of around 70 children within 72 hours at BRD hospital in Gorakhpur.

Terming the Chief Secretary's report as 'eyewash', the party felt that it was aimed at saving culprit officials while doctors who genuinely tried to save the children were falsely implicated. Congress had earlier protests demanding resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the Gorakhpur tragedy.  The delegation also raised the issue of floods in eastern part of the state and charged the state of failing to provide respite to the victims.
